Who this policy covers

This practical website privacy policy explains how One Click Events handles personal information connected with enquiries, quotes, bookings, payments, event delivery, communications and use of this website. It is written for customers and site visitors and is not legal advice.

One Click Events aims to handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy requirements, including the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

Information we collect

We may collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, billing details, event and venue information, dates and times, product selections, access or setup notes, enquiry messages, booking history, payment status and identifiers, correspondence, review or feedback information, marketing preferences, and technical information such as IP address, device, browser, request and security logs.

Payment card details are entered into Stripe’s hosted checkout. One Click Events receives payment status, transaction identifiers and limited payment information needed to administer a booking, but does not intend to receive or store a complete card number or card security code.

Please provide only information reasonably needed for the event. If access, dietary or other notes include sensitive information, or information about another person, only provide it where relevant and where you are authorised to do so.

How we collect information

We generally collect information directly from you through website forms, checkout, email, phone, social media or other communications. We may also receive information from a person booking on your behalf, a venue or supplier involved in your event, a payment or technology provider, or a public review platform.

The website and its service providers automatically generate limited technical, security and operational records when you visit or use the site.

Why we use it

We use personal information to answer enquiries, prepare quotes, check availability, create and administer bookings, take and reconcile payments, plan delivery and setup, communicate about an event, provide support, issue operational and review-request emails, keep accounting and business records, manage disputes or refunds, prevent misuse or fraud, comply with law, and improve the reliability and usefulness of our services.

We do not sell personal information. We may send marketing only where you have asked to receive it or where otherwise permitted. You can unsubscribe using the message instructions or by contacting us.

Who we disclose it to

We may disclose the information reasonably needed for these purposes to staff and contractors involved in an event, venues or suppliers where required to deliver the booking, payment and technology providers listed below, professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies, or another party where required or authorised by law.

Each technology provider handles information under its own terms and privacy practices. Provider services and hosting regions can change, so their current privacy notices should also be reviewed.

  • Convex: database, booking, enquiry and application data services.
  • Vercel: website hosting, delivery, security and operational logs.
  • Stripe: secure payment checkout, payment status and fraud prevention.
  • Resend: transactional booking, enquiry and service emails.
  • Google: address and distance services, maps, and Google review information.

Overseas processing

Some service providers operate global infrastructure. Personal information may therefore be processed or accessible outside Australia, including in the United States and in other countries where a provider or its subcontractors operate. The exact country can depend on the service and hosting configuration in use at the time.

We take reasonable steps when selecting and using providers, but overseas recipients may be subject to privacy laws that differ from Australian law.

Cookies, logs and third-party content

The site may use essential cookies or similar storage to operate the cart, checkout, account and security features. Hosting and security systems also create request logs. Google maps, reviews or other embedded content may receive technical information when loaded and may set their own cookies under their privacy practices.

You can restrict cookies in your browser, although essential site functions may then stop working correctly.

Security and retention

We use access controls and appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, to manage a booking or dispute, and to meet tax, accounting, insurance and legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to backups and lawful retention requirements.

Event images and reviews

The booking terms permit One Click Events to use event images for its website, social media and advertising unless the hirer opts out before the event. To opt out, email us before the event and identify the booking. We will record the request and instruct relevant staff or contractors.

If an image or published review identifies you and you want us to review or remove our use of it, contact us with enough detail to locate it. Removal from systems controlled by another platform may also require a request to that platform.

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask to access or correct personal information One Click Events holds about you. We may need to verify your identity before acting and may refuse or limit a request where the law permits, in which case we will explain the reason where required.

To make a request or privacy complaint, email info@oneclickevents.com.au with the subject “Privacy”. We will acknowledge the request and aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with the outcome and the Privacy Act applies, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, providers or information-handling practices change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page.
